On Saturday, August 20, the stone quarry on Ford Road just north of Illinois Avenue will hold an open house that is free for all ages. There will be bus tours of the facility, a rock dig, a chance to crack a geode, cookout and prizes. The event will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. Don’t miss a chance to see this facility during its once-a-year opening.
