When my grandfather moved to Maumee from Illinois, one of the activities our family enjoyed with him was going to Mud Hens games at Skeldon Stadium. He purchased season tickets right over the dugout and I spent time there with him as well as my friends. I remember fondly memorabilia from those days including foam fingers, signed baseballs, broken bats and stuffed Muddys. It is bittersweet to know that it will be demolished and yet exciting for the future of Maumee. I know that the potential of the space is great and it will always hold fond memories of my grandfather and of my youth.
