Speaking of refinancing…

According to Paul Brotzki, Maumee treasurer, the refinancing of outstanding bond debt this fall will save district taxpayers $938,150 over the life of the bond. I have been encouraging area homeowners to consider the same to keep their mortgage payments steady in light of the tri-ennial review by the Lucas County Auditor, which will increase their monthly escrow portion of their monthly payment. If you can lower your principle and interest portion of your monthly payment when the escrow amount increases, it will result in a payment about what you are paying present. This is based on mortgagees paying a higher interest rate than the current index. I have several mortgage lenders that I recommend and they will let you know if this is a feasible option. Don’t hesitate to call me!
