I want to thank all of you who attended my town hall meeting with speaker and Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez. It is her office that is charged by the state of Ohio with determining the mandated three-year assessment of property values. Attendees were some of the first to learn of the property value of their homes and what, if any, remedies were available to them to lower the assessment. I also asked a favored lender to speak with attendees about refinancing their property for a lower interest rate to offset the higher assessment.
