The Maumee Chamber held its annual banquet showcasing are hometown heroes and honoring local teachers. Former Police Chief Dave Tullis was named Outstanding Citizen. Cheryl Herr, a certified emergency nurse at McLaren St. Luke’s received the Hometown Heroes Award. Others honored included Joseph Dollman, Bridge Award for his work with the Boy Scouts as well at Sean Walker, Jody Smalley, Bryan Kayne and Jerry Lohman for student athlete photographer. The River Award was presented to Savage and Associates located in Arrowhead Park. The Golden Apple awards were given to Shayla Ferguson, Jason Dugan and Amy Stough. Taking home Shiny Apple awards for their work as custodians were Jeff Ballew, Mariam Abdulhadi, Tami Stoma and Lisa Maulbetsch, Gregg Balcerzak, Ben Ballew, Gregory Bartell, Susan Grisby, Betty Lewis, Julie Martin, Barbara Mavis, Eric Rice, Kevin Roberts, Roger Snyder, Sean Woodson and Lamar Woodson.
