What’s Happening in Maumee

The Maumee City Schools have received a $75,000 donation from an anonymous individual. The money has been earmarked for summer camp, makerspaces, new projects at Fort Miami and Fairfield elementary schools. The total given to the schools over the last eight years from this individual is over $450,000.

The 13th annual Acoustics for Autism is planned for March 1, noon to 2 am at locations throughout Maumee including The Village Idiot, The Elks Club, Buster Brown’s and Small Box Music. The event is free and all ages are welcomed. In total, 80 musical acts will perform on seven stages. www.acousticsforautism.com.

The Maumee Garden Club will establish two raised bed gardens with vegetables and flowers at the Maumee Branch Library. The library gave permission to plant the beds, which will lead to programming throughout the summer including making tea from scratch, easy pickle making, handmade aromatherapy, flower arranging and making salsa.
